tannin stain is getting a bit much. will it do any harm to do a partial water change half way through a fishless cycle?

It'll dilute ammonia/nitrite in the tank, so potentially slowing down your cycle. Your choice.

yeah i did loads of water changes when tht happened tome and my cycle wasnt really affected it was just abit slowed down!

Can you take out the wood for now and soak it in a bucket of water, put your carbon filter in and the water should clear slowly.

ok so my tanks cycle is alllmost over. ammonia is 0, nitrit is .25 and nitrate is 5. would it still slow it down to do a waterchange or is it far enough along now that it wouldnt affect it?
