Can I Use Sandstone In My Tank

silver multi sandstone (slate ?)
in my fih tank or no was thinking of buying soem to use as a hiding places for my plecs and my new fish i have coming blockheads (Steatocranus casuarius )

or wot else can i use something else


any idea's wld help

imo i think it wud be fine

i would soak it in water first as well
 
that doesnt look like sandstone..

but i dont think you can use sandstone, put a bit of vinegar on it and if it froths up then NO you cant.
 
ps. we have a patio with those slabs :P but they are beige. and come in 5 different sizes..

im told they are sandstone aswell

you could use slate roof tiles instead, they are smaller and better because they are thin. give them a wash first
 
just a piece of advice - i wouldn't use tiles for aquascaping, as they all have the same thickness. i got 2 slate tiles and after breaking them into pieces and building a 'rock formation', it didn't look very good at all.

i have use slate roof tiles be fore thought i use something else theres so many defi rocks or slate you can use
may take a trap to the garden centre but only problem we have is no car and the nearest one is 3miles away lol
