Can I Use Flourish Excel To Rid Bba?

Title says it all, I'm suddenly overrun with black brush algae and it aint gonna be a simple wipe off affair.

I think with everyone situation its best to assess why you have so much BBA and resolve the issue. Otherwise you will only temporarily removing the BBA.

I think it would also be cheaper and smarter to avoid using Excel as an algaecide when the solution may just be to decrease the photo period or whatever causes BBA.

I dont know whats causing it though. I have no live plants, my tank lights are on for 6 hours a night, I dont over feed (if anything I under feed), water change at least 30% once a week etc

What type & wattage are the tubes? How many aswell?

You can use excel or easycarbo. Use a pipette to squirt the daily reccomendation directly onto the BBA. You can overdose by 2x if you like but gradually raise the volume if you do so it isn't a shock to the plants/ fish. If possible, when doing you water change squirt it directly onto the algae and it will kill it even quicker.
