My poor lil red platy is poorly. At first I thought it was a fungus infection so I've been treating the tank for about a week now, with no improvement in his appearnace.

The picture's not the best I know, but it sort of shows what's wrong with him. His fins appear to be wasting away, and the white patches on his skin appears to be loss of colour rather than any sort of growth.

Any diagnosis or help would be much appreciated.

Well the fins and tail fraying could be fin and tail rot. Maracyn treatments work on that.

Well I decided to get rid, for the sake of my other fish. A tough decision - hope it was the right one.
