I picked up this glass thing a while ago and its been sitting next to my tank for a while. My betta doesn’t have too many hides and i hear its good to add new stuff to a tank every once in a while. I dont know if colored glass is okay for fishtanks, i washed it and no color came off or anything like that. Is it okay to add or should i just try something else?

I’m not sure on the type of material, but I wonder if there are any sharp points on it..? Sometimes there is a join in glass?

There dont seem to be any sharp points, its smooth all over mostly. I think it’s probably just colored glass or some kind of hard transparent plastic.

Check the bottom and see if it says anything like lead glass, lead crystal, etc. If it doesn't, then it's probably just blue glass and is fine for fish tanks.

It just says 05 on the bottom (probably decorative or something) i took off the label ages ago. If it is made of any of those materials will it have a negative effect on my tank?

Lead glass and lead crystal can sometimes cause problems if the water isn't changed regularly but it takes a really long time before it has any effect.

If you didn't pay a lot of money for it, then it's unlikely to be lead glass or lead crystal.
