I am about to plant a few African Swords (Echinodorus Bleheri) and want to know if I can attache them onto a peice of bog wood with the root exposed, or if I have to plant them.

Or can any aquatic plants roots be exposed?

Thanks for any help :)

Swords need to be totally planted. they get all their nutrients from their roots in the substrate. there are a few plants that can be tied on wood... anubias and java fern or moss do fine on wood.
