Can I Overdose Whitespot Treatment In Empty Tank?

As it says on the tin, can I overdose on the whitespot treatment?

The tank is currently filterless (waiting on new filter to arrive).
And is completely empty and not cycled anymore.
So im just treating the tank and décor.

I have already washed the tank and décor in hot salty water.
So just treating it now.

If those no fish or inverts in the tank it would be fine to overdose.
Though you will still have to rinse well and let dry out.

When would i rinse the tank well and let it dry out.
After treating it with meds for say 2 weeks?

I just use bleach and then rinse well and let it dry out for aday.
No need to wait two weeks.
You could rinse the tank out the next day.

I just use demestos forgotten how to spell it.
You can just use hot water and salt aswell.

Just do a search on how to clean a tank before you set it up there loads of sites that have info on this.

No fish means the ich will die within 14-21 days completely whether you treat or not. I would save the meds and just leave the tank.

Well the meds were free and theres plenty of it.

Maybe i'll do both (well all three), treat the tank and leave it fish-free for 14 days.
And then empty the tank out, leave it to dry, and then refill it.

That should kill the stupid buggers.
Then i have to cycle the thing =/

i dont think they can survive being dried out either? perhaps you could use a weak bleach solution, 1 part bleach to 20 parts water

wash the tank

rinse the tank very well!!!!

then let it dry out

fill the tank .... clean as whistle

This makes no sense whatsoever. Just dump the water out clean the tank and put in fresh. If its a filterless tank with nothing in it than you are just wasting meds and money.

Okay so last night i washed the whole tank with hot water, packed with salt and the medication (major overdose).
I have now left the tank to dry out over the weekend.

Am i safe to say the ich is gone?

Have you rinsed the tank before you left to dry.
Whitespot won't survive without a host anyway.
Yes the whitespot should of gone now.
