i have a 125 litre tank i have worked out my stocking levels and space wise they are fine however i have four three spot gouramis and 5 harlequins as well as bottom fish ~( i currently have three rosy bars which still leaves me fine for stocking but they are going to the lfs as they scare my other fish). will these guys all get on together the tank has been running for a bout three or four years and is fully planted thanks for any help

also which type of ram should i go for bolivian or butterfly and how many

that tank can hold arround 4-5 ram no problem and about the ram types its entirely up to you. Ram are very peaceful fish if give enought room. I like german blue ram the most. Got to love that sexy coloration of theirs.

Yep, rams and gouramis can go together. I had Bolivian rams, and even though they were in a 75G, they still fought with each other. But they never bothered any other fish.

I would take a pair, not more. When breeding rams can be far away from friedly.

thanks a lot could i also keep a pair of kribs?

i've always kept just one ram cos no matter how much room i've given them in the past one always bullies the other! -make sure you have plenty of cover if you do get two
I'm not sure about kribs and rams together, sorry

I had 2 bolivian males in the same tank and had to seperate them due to one bullying the other.Moved one to a 3ft with a pair of kribs and all was fine until the kribs started breeding when they became very aggressive. The fact that the ram was a bottom dweller like them meant he came in for a lot of aggression
I was told in the forums that a ram or krib will live quite happily on its own and a pair isnt neccessary. At the minute I have 1 bolivian and 1 krib in my 3ft and they live quite peacefully together

Personally I'd suggest getting a 4/5 Rams and letting a pair form naturally, then you can return the others to the fish shop.
