Can I Keep A Single Sex Group?

filter media, will be there day after tomorrow. :good:

yes females are slightly more placid that male platys, male platys are not aggressive, towards eachother its just that some people think they are and dont understand the pecking order.

when adding males guppies you need to add a pair or multis of 2, this is b/c they pair up eventually, when you loose a guppy and you want to add more you will have to add 3 as you cant add 1 on its own as it will picked on and adding 3 will stop this problem. if that make any sense lol.

thats really kind of you, great offer, sorry to sidetrack thead, just desperate to know how your going to keep the bacteria alive if you post it thats all. I used to be under the (wrong) impression that if the sponge is kept moist the bacteria will survive, but i believe this is only for a few hours tops.

EDIT: i might be wrong, i am going to find out, as if its possible i would happily also send someone media, i got asked the other day, i thought it would be a waste of time, but i will ask around as i have x6 External Filters + some internals, so always the odd bit of mature media about

Good Luck with your set-up Lizzie

EDIT: here we go http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=214389&hl=

of course you can post media, i never doubted it for a second :D

Well, it's a question of wording really. I have had males die from it and I know others have too, so it seems fair to use the word aggression. I suspect the level of aggression may be something to do with whether they are swordtail hybrids, as a lot of lfs platies are these days.
