can i have one

Hmm...I'm sorry, I don't know much about either. Hopefully someone else will help you out. I've kept bettas in with other catfish and other "bottom fish" but I don't want to say anything about the kinds you own when I don't know what I'm talking about

Anyone else know?

I would have to say no, syno's get fairly large and they're kind of annoying to the other fish, always trying to suck the slime off of them and such. A betta is just too slow,so I wouldn't recommend it.My syno drives my fronts crazy. You could always get one and put him in his own small tank.

Oh,also the cat barbles would poke holes in the finnage. Not good.

 I would say yes because i have had 2 peppered corys and 2 clown loach with one male and a female betta. They ignored atch other and i never saw them nipping or chasing. If you provide lots of hiding places there wouldnt be a problem.

I, personally, would never put a male betta in with anything, EVER.
Save yourself, him and his potential tank mates the headache.

You're comparing a 2" cory to an 8" syno...
Smith is right, completely different fish with completely different behaviour.
