Ok well I have 2 cherry barbs and a Julii Catfish.

The catfish is very friendly, so I assume a guppy will be ok with him/her (so hard to sex)

The cherry barbs are quite aggressive, and when I added the Julii my female cherry barb took some of its top fin off.
The Julii has not been attacked for a while so I assume its been accepted by the cherry barb.

whats the tank size?

i take it the Julii Catfish is a cory? if so then you'll need to get more

well the cory realy should be in groups of atleast 6.
so i would reccomend doing this or returning the one you have and getting guppies and male ones.
also your tank is 9 gal then theres all the space taken by gravel etc aswell.
so i'd say if you were to get guppies then a max of 6 if all male.

i would say yes they could go together like already stated about 6 if males as females will reproduce and your tank will be over stocked

Ok this is how my tank will be instead:

2 Cherry barb,
5 Rummy Nose Tetra,
3 Julii Catfish,

Then I will just get another tank for guppies / things that go with guppies

And maybe even a Q tank as I will have quite a few fish then ^_^
