just wondering wether i can have another male dwarf gourami added to the tank
the tank is quite heavilly planted see here for pics http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=260435

i have one male and 3 females at the moment - was only having 2 females but lfs gave me a free lady that had a damaged top fin

thanks sarah x

you tank is large enough fo another but im not sure beacuse i kept two males in a 60 litre and they seemed to nipp eachother
rip one died today
still dont know exactly why but it wasnt caused by the other one
there were no females because they are my sisters fish in my tank
and when asked wich ones she wanted she picked the realy colourful ones (males) i think you probably could get away with it depending on the personality they can live quite happily together
nice tank btw

tom

You can but it's best to have 1 male to three females as it will split the dwarfs aggresion over the females.

i've had my male over a month and he's A BIG SOFTIE very lucky with him , the females are so cute the way they all swim together
looks like a tank shuffle then lol to get another male and 2 more females in

IMO no, because there isnt enough females, if you bought 3 females and another male it may work, but normally you should only keep one male per tank or you may get aggression problems

the agression levels depends on personality i had two male with no female they were completly fine
the most nipping done was between them and the barbs
they would occasionaly nip at eachother but only when being fed and fighting for food

Think i'm going to risk it as i have other tanks he could be moved into if there's a problem
thanks for the replies
i'm settled on 1 more male and 2 more females
