Can 1 apple snail live in a 5 gallon tank with 3 guppies,2 platties and 1 shrimp? I need info! And DONT say i need a bigger tank because i dont have money OR SPACE! And some people say that platys get to be 6 inches??!!! Well the info that i got said they only get to be 3 inches. NO i dont have the fish yet.NOOOO im not going to get a betta because i have a 2.5 gallon that a betta is going to be in.And NOOOOOOO im not getting rid of this NICE,CLEAN 5 GALLON TANK.Why? Well because im only 13 and my mom said 5 gallons is all im getting and i AGREE,because i have 2 2.5 gallons and a 5 gallon.Getting a 10 gallon or more would be silly because i would end up with 4 tanks! :S

You dont need a bigger tank, just less fish in there :p

In a 5 gallon, id lose the fish, buy more shrimp and an apple snail.

Thats 17.5 inches of adult fish in a 5 gallon tank. Thats overstocked, the most you could have in there is two platys and shrimp.

I would do 3 male guppies, and the shrimp. There is no need for the snail, unless you really want it, and if you have live plants then he might eat it.

Hello Betta527

Just a thought but if you're asking for help and advice it might just be nice to, shall we say, have a slightly softer tone in your opening post? There are lots of very knowledgeable people on these forums who are more than happy to share there experience with us newbies  and I'm sure you will appreciate their help as much as I have done :good:

As I say, just a thought ;)

As already mentioned above, you dont need a bigger tank, just put less fish in it.

I would put either:

a) 3 x male guppies & shrimp OR

b) 2 x male platy's & shrimp

The tank isnt big enough for them all together and you tank would be 3x overstocked and setting yourself up for a fall.

Make sure you only get same sex otherwise you will be overrun with fry.
