Hi guys

I have an aquarium around 30l on the wall, I was thinking about adding a male to the community, can anyone see any issues with:

neons
Platys, mickeymouse and sunset
Female Betta
Shrimp
Apple snail

The tank is planted and has a lot of hiding places, my platys are very bright coloured and the tank is only 8cm wide but 1.2m long.

I love bettas but would be scared to death or endangering any of my other fish! Especially the female in there.

Thanks for reading

Rob

You don't state what species of a male your wanting. Do you mean a male betta? Its suggested to have a ratio of 1male:3females as the male could really pester a single female. Any male betta I've had has been fine.

I dont think i have the capacity for three more fish at their size, ah well never mind :)

Some people could tell you different but that's the way I would add them and I know lots of people who use the same principle.

I have had one male to three females before. He never killed any of them off or cause harm.

Cheers,

Males are best kept alone, you shouldn't keep males/females together on a long term basis as it will go wrong.

you could always add more females? minimum is 4+ ususally
