Can I fit a guppy?

Okay, I've got a thirty-four litre (less than ten gallon) tank at the moment with three platies (two female, one male) and two albino cories. I don't know why, but it seems a bit strange only having two completely different species in there. I'd figured (considering I wanted to keep fish from similar regions, ie. South America) I could add a male guppy or possibly two.

So...

Would he be able to fit?

Would he mind not having a bonnie lass or two to chase?

Would he at least need another male?


Any help'd be appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but I think cories need to school, 2 is too few, but more would be a tight fit in your tank if we follow the 1 inch fish per gallon rule (assuming platies are 2 inches at adult size, plus cories--don't know what size albinos get, but assuming it's 2 as well, you have 3x2 + 2x2 =10 inches)

u should get a m&f or else the males will get aggresive. for guppies 2 can fit inside a gallon of water so if u want to get guppies u should get a m/f.

i think theyd be fine if you keep on top of water changes its usually best to have 1 male to 2 females but 1male and 1 female would be okay you wont have problems with the platys or corys as far as i know

I'm not an expert, but I think cories need to school...

With albinos it seems that it's open for interperitation; some say it doesn't matter, some stress at least two, some stress at least three. One of mine is healthily hyper-active, where the other one (where it still swims around happily) I often see sitting still on the floor in a secluded corner. Thus I've decided to get one more cory first, then worry about guppies.

It's almost nine US gallons and will soon have six fish in it (including the other cory). Hmm... I guess I'd be pushing it, eh? I do a one third water change almost every week. I just don't know if my tank'll be overcrowded. I'm not a fan of tanks with lots and lots of fish, and considering I'd have to get at least two guppies, it seems that it'd be shaving it really close.

Any thoughts?

up to you..just make sure you do the water changes..gravel vac...etc.
