i am going to the lake district soon and i wondered if i could collect driftwood from on the lakes. but i don't know if any toxins would hurt the fish, how do i know if the wood is safe?

cheers, :good:

probably best off checking whats in the water first...ive collected some form my local river.

i just got back, i only found one piece, a root about a foot long, i think it's from a sycamore tree, how exactly do i prepare it?

cheers

Just to kill any potential nasties :good:.

I'm not going to bother when I collect my wood though, just going to dry it out first.

it's been left dry for a few days so i don't think there are any bugs on it, so i think i'll just boil it then soak it, about how long do i boil/soak for?

also, could i collect some from the beach? and do i still just boil and soak?

cheers
