Can I add fish if using meds??
if you are using medications then it normally means there is a disease in the tank. Adding new fish at this stage could mean the new fish contract the current disease and also add stress to the tank with their introduction. On the other hand, if you are treating for intestinal worms or whitespot, then adding new fish now shouldn't make much difference and you could treat them all at once.
Melafix is just tea tree oil and wont affect anything. Its not a real medication.
Tea tree oil has known antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. It is extremely toxic in large concentrations but if used correctly (ie: in the form of Melafix) can make a big difference to the health of sick fish. It won't cure serious bacterial infections (ie: Columnaris) but many minor ailments can be cured with it.Ah, good to know. I figured it was an antibiotic.Melafix is just tea tree oil and wont affect anything. Its not a real medication.
