a knife fish
a chocolate gourami
and 2 frogs

does anyone know anything on these? :)

oh dear, you really shouldn't be thinking about adding more fish to that tank, your massivley overstocked as it is :/

your tank's about 33 gallons, and you should aim for 1" of fish for every gallon of water (bear in mind you have to work this out on adult size of the fish)

i'll run through how much room you need for these fish

5 neons - 5"
5 platies - 10"
2 bumblebee gobies - 2"
2 clown loaches - 24"
1 Bristlenose plec - 4"
2 Pangasius cats (oh there so cute! they look like little sharks) - ummm, heres a link to show you how big these get
6 pygmy corydoras - 6"
7guppies (1 FEMALE 6 MALE) - 7"
a elephant nose - 12"
a knife fish - 24"
a chocolate gourami - 2"
and 2 frogs - 2"

so you need about a 100g tank to keep all those fish in, and that's not including the pangasius cats which get biggest of all of them :/

you need to return the clown loaches, pangasius cats, elephant nose and knife fish, these all get way to big for your tank.

after that you'll still be overstocked but only by a little bit so it's ok

and i may be completely wrong... but aren't bumblebee gobies brackish fish??? :/

:-( oh no i love my fish! are you sure they are not wild pangasius fishes? gobies can be kept in brackish or fresh water they prefere brackish but fresh is ok i think. is thaere any way i can just return a few fish? you are leaving me with all the boring ones as a option???

thankyou for your thoughts though :look: x

wild/tank bred makes no odd's... they can all get that big. it's a fish that really shouldn't be in the trade at all as they get too big for most people to keep, sadly they're very cute when small and a lot of people don't know how big they get so shops keep stocking them. millions of them die all the time from being kept in tanks far too small. it's really really sad actually

there's a lot of different gobies, some fresh some brackish some that are happy in both. i'm not 100% sure which bumblebees are, sure someone who knows will post shortly though.

i'm really sorry to be the bearer of such bad news, i'm sure you love your fish and don't want any harm to come to them, that's why the best thing to do is return them to the store or give them to someone with a bigger tank.

the only one's you could conceivably keep from the ones i said should go are the clown loaches, they are gonna want a bigger tank (and they prefer to be in bigger groups too) but they're fairly slow growing so you'd have a year or so to upgrade the tank for them if you wanted to keep them. your looking at getting at least a 75g tank for them though so more than double the size you have now.

Bumblebee gobies can be kept in freshwater, as they are found in freshwater in the wild.

:/ not the elephant nose? hes my favourite? its really sad about the pangasius catfishes they luk a really nice tinge of blue in my tank, but they are so small i cannot believe they wud get so big! :-( i am guessing i should just rethink my fish and what i get next?

any suggestions for future small fishes????? :S

as usual i agree with miss wiggle sorry to say your tank is ridiculously overstocked what filtration are you running?
a good start would be losing the pang cats, the knife fish(whatever kind it is)and the clown loach.dont add more fish

What everyone has said is true. You have way to many soon to be large fish in your tank. I also really worry about your one female guppy!! She must be getting molested left, right, up and down!! I would highly recommend returning her and just sticking with males!
Here's what I think you should keep
platies
guppies
Corries
BN plec
Maybe think about doing a large school of 1 of those choices and then focusing on a centerpiece fish. 1 really cool fish that stands out. Keep the corries as the bottom group and the BN. Just a thought.
Your ENose is probably suffering, sorry to say. They are not very hardy, hard to get to eat, sensitive to water changes ect.
Did you cycle your tank? what are your water parameters? How quickly did you add all these fish??
Im worried about some problems in your future if you don't switch some things around. Sorry.

sorry, he's gonna get too big for your tank.

yeah definately time for a re-think you've just learnt the first lesson in fishkeeping, research before you buy!!

ok so out of the small fish in your tank, which ones do you want to keep, we can work around that.

Man - youve spent ALOT of money on fishies in two weeks! I really hope its not wasted because they die!

One thing you haven't mentioned are your stats - I've had my tank for 3 weeks, failed to cycle before hand but treading very carefully so I don't lose any of my babies. I'm currently fighting with a nitrite spike which is improving, if youre not doing so, go to your closest shop like now, and test your water - losing some because of overstocking is one thing, add on some excessive chemicals and you could have yourself a reeeeally bad sitaution.

Good luck though - hope you and your fishies come out in one piece!!!!

i was trying to not even think about all this!! :/

do you know anything about the nitrogen cycle??

Hmmm... I'm sure that Knife Fish & Pangasius Cats would eat bumblebee gobies and pygmy cory's? Lord!
