i have a male apisto cacatuoides and he seems really fed up. i first got him when he was tiny with a female but she died.
in the past month and a half, i've really downsized my stock. i took away my 3 angels, my pictus cats died and there are some other inhabitants that i've probably forgot to mention. anyway, all that is left are 6 corys, 2 otos, 2 plecos and 1 hill stream loach.
the reason for this is breeding. i'm hoping to get the corys to spawn as well as the cacatuoides, however, i'm scared he's not going to make it.
since he's been the only mid swimming fish in the tank, he has deteriated in happiness. all he does now is sit on the bottom with the corys.

i'm hoping to get 2 females for him in a week or 2 when i can afford it. they are totally not available at all where i live so i'm having to buy some online. 2 will cost about £35 all together but i really want these 2 fish so i can try breed them so i dont mind the price.

will my A. cacatuoides survive a few more weeks alone, dya reckon?

thanks

Should be fine alone. Sounds like you have other problems in your tank at the moment. What are your water stats and have your other fish been lethargic?

i thought there might have been another problem too. my nitrites and ammonia are at 0, thats all i've been able to test for.
he seems alright when i feed the fish but other than that, he's just sitting on the bottom with the corys. i really want the females to cheer him up lol
