AND i will have an extra tank just in case if the female betta doesn't get along with them..
but i thought maybe a female might be better than a male?
might be able to socialize with others...but i'm not sure?
if you have the time to keep an eye on them then you could try, but I personally wouldnt risk them getting stressed by the betta. If you have two tanks have one with some female bettas, they are best in groups of about 4/6, and another with guppies.
well my lfs has not quite baby bettas...but half the size of average bettas...so they wouldn't be fully grown or anything..and i would only be getting one..MAYBE two, and the seconde tank is only 2.5 gallon [yes i have been successful with that tank<--it's NOT cruel if they're happy.]
I'd have to say no because:
A) females do really well in groups (usually)
B) I had a female once with guppies temporarily for just 10 minutes. She bit full down on on a guppies tail and tore so hard she bent his spine! His spine was never normal after that and his tail was really damaged.
I say don't do it, but if you choose to try, do so with much caution.
