I had a pair of peacock gudgeons that got stuck on my filter yesterday! one didn't make it and the other has had his tail badly damaged! He made it through the night but now he's not being so active, I just went in to check on him and he swam up like he was OK but then did a head dive straight into a clump of live pland and he isn't swimming out on his own!

Does anyone think I could do anything to save him or is it likely too late?

P.S. I'm working on fishproofing the filter! the fish must have decided to jump in from the top because that is the only part that isn't meshed off!

If the fish is struggling to swim sadly when there do this they don't make it, how much of the tail has gone.

About half, on top from where it meets the body to the bottom tip!

I'm not too hopefull! Luckily the LFS I got him from has an excellent return policy which ironically covers injuries for 7 days! I'll have to fix the tank and try again! They were both doing wonderfully till they decided to go into the filter!
