Unfortunatly i have a neon tetra that is suffering from Ich very badly and i dont think he will make it (although i hope he does, and i will be very pleased to see that this medication is working). He is the only one infected with Ich that i can see. After his death when i take him out will i have to continue treating the water for ich to kill all of the bacteria? Or once the infected fish is out its good to go? because i want my other fish to survive and not go through what my neon tetra is.

Thanks,
Steven

No. keep on caring out the treatment for some time after the fish is out. ich has loads of different stages and one stage is in the water. it swims around in the water attaching itself to plants and fish, then its the visible form. so its pretty likely that the disease is still in your tank and will be for a while. keep the treatment in there and all will be fine soon.

Hi. I second the above post. The white spots are only one stage of the disease. Keep on treating. You can find much information about the disease and its stages if you search around a bit. Also, if you have some decorations that are easy to get out of the tank the i suggest taking them out and cleaning them well, this may help a little.
