Can Anyone Help Me With My Stocking

Hi all just upgraded my tank to a 230l it currently houses

1 common plec
2 platys
5 neons ( soon to be 12)
5 black phantom tetras
2 Bolivian rams
1 dwarf gouarmi ( soon to be 3)

Would really like some decent sized fish bright colours etc.

Hi Craig.

Got yourself a nice stocking there. :good:

You could add a tropical shark to the tank. Either a Red Tail or Rainbow?
Or you could of added some other Gourami, Golden, Lace? But im not sure with the Dwarfs being in there already.

The only problem I can see is that Common Plec. He/She will grow huge, so huge it will need a 5/6 foot tank. If I were you, i'd get rid of it as soon as and replace with a suitable Pleco, Like a Bristlenose or Bulldog. When kept in a tank not big enough, they get stunted in size.

Hi James thanks for the help. I already no about the plec but will hopefully have a 6 footer in the garage soon so he should be ok. But I suspect he may already be stunted due to incorrect advice when I first got him 2 year ago and only recently find out the truth

I really feel bad but hopefully it may not be to late and should have the new tank in the next month. As for the sharks I really like that idea but I thought they had to be kept in a group ?

Well Common Plecos can live for years and years, so hopefully if you get him in a six footer soon he can grow more towards his potential size.
Red Tails or Rainbow's need to be kept on there own due to aggresion, its Bala Sharks that need to be in groups, but they are to big for a 230 litre anyways. They would be okay for a 6 footer, so you could consider them in the future.
