How long would it take for your tank to start a mini-cycle (if it's going to) when you add fish to it? I just wonder.... my newest set-up (see sig, tank with harlequins) had just a DP in it. It was fully cycled, and I remove the DP and put in 2 cories within an hour of each other. Later that day (about 6 hours later) I added the 3 harlequins. That was 2 days ago. What I'm wondering is if the tank will mini-cycle since I added a higher load to it than what it was used to. How long would it take for the it to start, if it does? I've been testing each day and so far the stats are:
ammo 0
nitrites 0
nitrates 5
ph 6.8

Thanks

I know when I added too many fish at one I saw a spike within the first week but can't remember exactly how many days. Sowwy! But it was also before I knew anything about it & I had originally cycled with fish. After I found the forum I figured out I needed to be testing my water. :S So I tested everything was good & then I added like 5 fish & had a spike in the first week.

Guess not what you would call an expert opinion, but hey I tried. :D
