Just upgraded to a juwel 240 from a small 70 ltr tank. Only had the tank 3 months and addicted already!!!! In this tank we have 3 clown loaches, 1 platy (sadly lost 2 others recently) 3 glowlights,3 prestila tetras (I think thats how you spell it) and 6 neon tetras. We would like to add some slightly larger fish but as we a
quite new to this are unsure which would be ok to add to original stock without any problems.

tell me about the MTS (more tank syndrome).

been hooked on fish tanks since Nov 05 and I now have 2 tanks already, about to buy a 3rd and diy it into 3 pods for 3 bettas and picking up a 4ft tank soon along with (and this part is a little secret) looking at a huge 72"x24"x24" (6ftx2ftx2ft) tank to do a marine aquarium in.

So, onto suggestions for you.

I reckon you need some more top dwellers for your tank as the loaches etc are bottom/middle dwellers along with the tetras being middle people.

How about a handful of scissortails? grow to about 4", love to be in groups and love the upper/middle area of the tank (away from those pesky clowns)

I would definately NOT get any more bottom dwellers, those clown loaches will grow to absorb all that space.

Thanks for that. With being new to this game I appreciate the advice. I bought this small tank for my wife
after she pestered me for weeks and yesterday drove for an hour and a half to pick up the new tank.
She's got me hooked too!!!!!!!

your original stock is pretty well tempered and so should show now problems with other well mannared fish :)

wow im supprised that the platty went before the neons
