Is it ok for them to live together or will they kill/breed with each other!

Old books advise against the union for both of these reasons! -_- :dunno:

In this case the old books are wise ;) Choose one species and go for a pair or group.

Cool! hey.... i just finished setting up my 80 ltr for the shell dwellers and calvus . :D

i just need to sell on the mbuna that are still in there and then get some shells any suggestions for types of shell and were to get them! :hey:

My favourate price is free, so I go to the large chain LFS and dip into their apple snail tanks and take empty shells. They don't mind, they'd throw them out anyway, and they work perfectly. Escargot shells work well too. It's best to try for a variety of sizes to let the shellies choose their favourates. Different shelldwellers need different amount of shells. On both extremes Brevis need only a couple, Multifasciatus like as many as you are willing to add. Most fall somewhere in between.

The real Neothauma shell, which they use in the wild

Can be ordered online, but cost quite a bit.
