Can A Fish Have A Stroke?

I've had one of my female Mollies since June or so, she's one of my oldest fish, but truthfully, she isn't that old. Anyways for the last two weeks or so she hasn't been swimming right. It seems she has to try a lot harder to swim anywhere compared to all the other fish, as if her tail fin doesn't work. All her other fins appear to work and everything.

She hasn't been in any trauma so I don't know what it could be, a stroke was just the first thing that comes to mind when I watch her. She's doing fine and can eat and everything, she just can't swim right.... any ideas?

It could be possible, but there could be many reasons for her not being able to swim properly

shimmying and shaking (what comes to mind by your description) can also be caused by internal parasites or poor water quality, though like cazgar said, a lot of things can cause it.

Was just about to make a topic on something like this as yesturday i lost a female green terror due to something odd, she just tripped out swimming full speed into the glass, jumpin out of the water ect.
She calmed down and only seemed to have abit of heavy breathing but few hours later i found her dead .

Still puzzling me as to what happened my topic is HERE about it so i'm not stealing yours

It couldn't be a problem with the nervous system could it? I'm not much of an expect with diagnosing fish illnesses, but just wanted to throw that idea in there in case it helped
