Fish Herder
My newest bettas are calming down fast. Chance and Hope know who's boss in the 5 gallon, Penny. They swim to the side when Penny comes around there area. Penny is a lot bigger than them and could easily kill one of them. Penny nipped at Hope when she was first introduced so Hope isn't taking much chances with big Penny. But I think Chance knows that Penny could kill her anytime. I know that to so every hour or so I check up on the girls. Both are on the sides so Penny wont hurt them. I put 2 fake plants and one BIG real plant in there just in case Penny tries to hurt Chance and Hope they can hide away from her.
Now my male Royal(also new) has gotten use to You Beta and Carmel. They can all see each other so they can do there flaring contest and now with You Beta and Carmel flaring right in front of Royal. He has started to do flaring contests too! He seems comfy but he is in a small fish bowl and I am searching for a big of something he can live in. Royal does not understand that Carmel rules the split and Royal keeps flaring at him. Carmel will not back down and flares back. Soon I think Royal will Rule the split. But for now its Carmel and he is not giving it up soon. You Beta on the other hand will flare for a few seconds and then back down from Carmel.
I saw a pretty male yellow crowntail at the petco and I had to leave him because if I took him he would have had to live in a cup. Plus Royal looked like he was sad and wanted other bettas to look at. I think he had been in that shelf for a long time because I took him home and fed him. Royal had forgotten how to chew. I seemed like he really wanted it though because he ate it fast tried to chew and spit it out. He finally got it down though. Poor little Royal stared at me until I payed attention to him on the shelf. He looked so unhappy there and I could not leave him on that shelf!
Chance on the other hand was tiny and her sister was the same size. I chose her because she was lively and wanted to swim in a big tank you could just see it in her little tiny eyes. I was so sad to leave her sister there
But I know she will get a home and was on there for a little bit because they are so tiny. But I just had to take chance she was so mad to be in that little cup. I saw she was practically doing back flips. When I put her in with Penny she was scared I would be too if I put into a huge tank with a fish 3 times my size.lol
Now Hope was adorable. Not as lively as Chance but a little tiny bit bigger. She is blue and I could not leave her there! Poor thing looked so unhappy. She looked like a sad puppy in the pound. Except a fish in a petco. She was on top of Chance and her sister and looked so sad. She was looking around as if she was saved but she never looked at me. I had doubts about getting the little thing but I thought about no more tanks and she needed to be in a group so I got her.
I saw a couple walk be and stop in front of the bettas as I was looking. The lady looked at a wonderful red one that I was almost going to get and said "Oh this red fish would go great with the table". But the man said no and they walked away. I doubt she even knew what there type of fish was. People who think bettas are decorations make me mad!
