As above the indicator solution in my Cal Aqua drop checker turns clear. No colour at all. Just wondered what that means ???

I just added the indicator solution to the top half and the reference solution to the bottom.

Its this one

so you added tank water to the bottom and indicator
added 4dkh solution and indicator in the top

They are pointless really, a waste of money If you are using tank water, with higher pH the reference solution then by the time it reaches pH 6.6 you will have much more than 30ppm of CO2.

with a kh of 4 and a ph of 6.6 (green drop checker) this indicates 30ppm of CO2.

No tank water added I just added indicator and reference solutions top and bottom

how wuld that work? The idea is to test the ph of your water in the bottom part (tank water & indicator), and the CO2 level in the top part (4dkh water & indicator) . You then match the colours up so the ph doesnt swing to much.

But by doing this, you wont be injecting enough CO2 to reach 300ppm as i described earlier, if i was you, just fill the top up with 4dkh solution & 3 drops of indicator then change CO2 injection rates as necassary to reach 30ppm (green colour in drop checker)

I believe it comes in sachets from Cal aqua.
A standard drop checker is actually better, you can have a green drop checker and still not enough co2 for your tank. Look at the fish rather than the drop checker.
