hi i believe my pair of appistogramma cacatuoides are now breeding as they have been in their little coconut for some time and now there is a little mound of sand at the entrance and both are being very protective.
my question is if they do breed are they good parents? are they hyper aggressive and will the babies survive?
the other fish in the tank are as follows

x10 cherry babrbs
x4 bristelonse catfish
x3 siamese flying fox's
and one red tailed black shark

the tank is 30g and i have a spray bar and an external fluval 205 filter

they can be good parents in my experience, but that usually takes about 3-4 attempts,in a community tank very few will survive if any even if they are good parents.

cheers

scott

i have read that the femle will chase the male away once the fry are swimming is that right?

i wish i could set up a little tank but i really dont have the room
