My Cabomba is almost at the surface of my tank after just 2 weeks! Its doubled in size.

My Newbie question is, can I take cuttings of this plant and grow them elsewhere in my tank?

Thanks.

Yes just cut the plant in half with your fingers, then replant the top half where you want it and it will soon root. I have had this stuff grow like wild fire in the past to well over a meter I believe it can hit 3 metres, but I always chopped it down before it got anywhere near that.

Excellent, I'll give it a go tonight.

Will it need holding down with anything? If so, what do I use?

No just push the stalk in a couple of cm, and it should stay in fine, if it does get pulled out just push it in again. I have no problems and I use a sand substrate, it doesnt take long before it start to root. :)
