My endlers are getting out of controll for my planted 30 gallon tank. I have a 55 gallon tank i want to plant soon but i dont want to do a diy c02 kit. How many endlers(guppys) would it take to provide enough co2 to the plants? would it even make a difference? i have about 100 now and they multiply fast soon they will be over 200 if they were moved into a bigger tank. also what would be the best plants for a low co2 tank? i have extra jungle vals would like to use. or corkskrew vals? also its a low light tank. 1.5 w

In a word... no.

Theres no way the fish will produce anywhere near the amount plants require to live a healthy life. Your target should be 30ppm of C02.

The most i have ever seen in a tank is about 8ppm

Really, its either all or nothing with CO2. The plants cant take full benefit fromo it unless its high. Somple plants wont even grow in an aquarium without it.

Yep, Ive got to agree with Aeropars, mostly :) !

Some plants will grow without CO2, most will either grow slowly or just hang-in for a while, lots will eventually need replacing !

Horses for courses really, but if you want good/lush growth then add CO2, it was a revalation to me in my struggles for a nice planted tank.
