can a c02 unit be used in my community tank (for my plants) safely without herting fish? need fast answer

fast short answer is yes its perfectly safe as long as its not overdosed,
In answer to your Java fern question/post, yeah you can buy the small java ferns and get them to grow on wood or rock or even on the plant pot caves you have in your tank.

thx and the plant pots are in my 10g fry tank now. lol
