Hi all,

I was wondering what peoples opinions were about using C02 in a low light planted tank, is it still essential? advised? not needed?

Thanks

Id still use it. I just get a nutrafin canister (depending on size of your tank) I had one when my tank was 1.7WPG and im sure it helped

don't know,

But I know he uses Co2, ferts etc...
I think.

whats an ADA tank?

Aqua Design Amano, at least I think that's what it means. Yes, I'd encourage the use of CO2 as well. I've got two tanks with it and two tanks without. You don't have to be as diligent about the levels though, at least I'm not. I am in the process, however, of reducing my CO2 levels. Both tanks are either over a year or just about a year old, and the scapes are defined. Since all I want now is to maintain the scape and not do any drastic pruning, I'm reduced the CO2 levels by removing a canister. I actually want slower growth at this point. I use the Nutrafin system and have used 2 canisters in tanks as little as 10g, but I wanted a really high CO2 output.

ok so im going to go for the nutrafin canister but swap the ladder for a less unsightly diffuser

one question though does the canister kit come with a non return valve? i plan to keep the canister below the tank

Thanks

one nutrafin may not be enough pressure to go with a diffuser. I have a nutrafin and a 2 liter bottle on my diffuser and it wouldnt work until i had sealed everything and got co2 pipe.

The nutrafin doesnt come with a non return valve
