Buying Fish

So, I'm kind of new to the forum and have been lurking for a few weeks. I know most of you people are in the UK but there are a few Americans on here as well. I live in North-West Alabama and was wondering if anyone knew of any good places (other than large national pet shop chains) that might be worth checking out. There isn't much in the town I live in and the nearest place to buy fish is one of the aforementioned national pet shops .

Whats the general consensus on buying fish online ? Best advice for someone that lives nowhere near a good shop ? Best places to look ? Recommended sites/shops ?

Just looking for some input as i'd like to know im making a informed decision with as much knowledge as i can.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. I'm out in California up at Lake Tahoe. Not a lot of great fish stores here either. I have ordered several times from a store in Portland OR called Wetpets with great results. I have also ordered off of aquabid.com an ebay type place where suppliers and breeders and anyone else can post their fish and other fish related stuff. I ordered 8 angel fish from a breeder in Florida and they came very nicely packaged and very healthy. So my experience has been very good with on-line sources. On aquabid they rate the sellers like ebay so you get some idea. Of course there can always be an issue, like with ebay.
