I am going to buy a betta splendens tommorow but i'm not sure about its food because i heard that bettas need speciality food and not normal flake food?Is it true? What are the disadvantages of feeding normal flake food over speciality ones?
Could u recommend a flake food or betta specific food which is very good!
And are bettas not compatible with any of the following:
Angelfish
3 Spot gourami
Zebra danios
Scissortail rasbora
Are any of them fin nippers

I wouldn't put a betta with any of the fish you have listed :/ There would be compatibility issues with angels, gouramis and danios. I don't know about scissortail rasboras though.

as said, wouldn't really recommend mixing the betta with your current tank residents. if you really want a betta, and i highly recommend them (though a word of caution, they CAN become quite addictive), get a separate smaller tank just for him. 1 or 2 gal is sufficient. you'll all be happier this way. :D

as for feeding, MOST won't eat flakes, but some do. i have a one in a tank with a molly, so of course i feed the molly flakes. went to get teh betta bits, came back to find the betta chasing the tiny bits of flake. but any of the smaller pellets sold for bettas (usually near the bettas) are good. hikari is a common brand, and my bettas seems to like it.
