so im getting my 125 litre in the new year and im doing a tank clone :)

and i have 2 rams at the moment in a 60 litre with 13 neon tetras, and i was wondering if i could have a group of six in the 125 litre with neon tetras and corydoras, for a sort of south american bio-tope. do rams get on ok in these groups 4-6?

or am i best of sticking with 2?

and also would they get on with 2 angel fish? (which will be added to the tank last)

my knowledge is that the rams would be fine in larger groups, although if they breed the males will get agressive and with the fairly aggressive angels things could get scrappy. It will be fine if there are more females than males, dont know the suggested ratio for rams, but you should get some one elses advice on angels, i think they would be fine as the rams are fairly big

Hey Truck, going for the 125 then eh?

The ratio for rams is generally 2 per 20g, so 6 would be pushing it IMO, I would say go for 4, two males, two females, if they decide to breed you may (but only may) have to remove a pair, but in a well planted tank, with plenty of hidey holes, rocks, terriroties, you should get away with it.

Not up on angels tbh, but providing you dont have a breeding pair of those, I see no problems with the suggested stocking :good:

yeh mothers rules  but its going in my bed room :kana: :- :drink: so i can have more viewing time, if i had the 180 i wouldnt be allowed to keep my rekord 60, so i guess the rekord will come in useful if there are any aggression issues.

any way thanks for the advice on rams. :good:
