I was given this from a friend who didnt think there tank would be big enough for it. From what ive read about them they live in cold water as that has more oxgen in, but they are able to live in warmer waters if there is extra oxgen. they are in with my bristlenoes and ive added a second filter with them and they are having weekly water changes, all seam to be getting on ok we got him/her last week and today is the first day that its come out, i must admite we were beging to think it had died.

Anyway does anyone have any tips or info on them from what i can tell they are either called a butterfly plec or a flounder plec. Sorry the pics are a bit dark if i can ever get a better one ill let you know.

they are chinese hillstream loaches, what is the water temp? AFAIK they will be fine upto around 24degrees, although cooler is preferable

at the moment its about 20 i keep the temp low in this tank as it is by a window and gets heated up by the sun alot of the time but ive not know it to go over 25 or under 20

I believe this be your fella Sinogastromyzon-wui it is in fact a hillstream loach, the link should tell you what you need to know, but i will say to get the best out of this fish you should try & replicate conditions described. I've been after another one of these for a while they're a great fish enjoy.
