Butterfly Fish Stopped Eating

Abit more info would be good, once a fish stops eating not good, is the fish bloated, any physical signs to go on like fungus, spots, anything.
Water stats would also be good in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Not bloated, No fungus and Ive not done a water test, Just stopped eating, Starting to look a bit thin now also instead of its spine being straight its now got a bit of a droop towards its tail

Its a bacterial infection, and when there tail starts to bend sad to say they don't make it, i would issolate the fish in a container, the spine isn't bent is it.

Sounds like he's lost weight through not eating, just want to make sure he didn't lose the weight before he did stop eating.

Just take a look here.

The full story, The tank had 5 neons, 1 betta, 1 tiny brissel nose plec a khuli loach and the butterfly fish

1 neon died from dropsy

The khuli loach just died

The plec died from those horrible anus worm things

The Neons seem ok

The betta seems pretty lifeless

All of this from one tank, Ive already got rid of one small tank due to endless problems now this, Never have any serious problems with the 55 gallon tank, Im cursed by small tanks

Right i can see why now internal parasites are nasy, i had them had to destroy the two fish with them as they were really ill, had to strip the tank down and start again.
Other fish will be infected with them, they cause bacteria infections on top as the parasite does alot of damage to the inside of the fish.
It's just a waiting game i'm afraid all you can do now is destroy the fish that are infected, strip tank down, then put the healthy fish back in.

Just done a water change, Had a closer look at the betta, it has dropsy. Once every thing in the tank dies Im giving up on it, Just gonna focus on the large tank, The fish are better, It looks better, Never had any serious problems, All in all its a good setup and thats the way I want it to stay

Sorry been there know how you feel, but now i have three healthy tanks, so don't give up it does get better, good luck.

Its only a 12 gallon tank, the butterfly fish needs a heck more room than that and its a carnivore.

As for internal parasites Bloo has found a remedy for that. Look at the last post in the pin me thread in announcements.

How much water changing do you do on that tank and how often? Sounds like a lot of bacterial nasties are building up so do more water changes and bigger volumes.
