Hello,
I recently had a male and female Butterfly Cichlid (or blue ram Papiliochromis ramirezi), but they were killed off by an outbreak of fungus
(
I was just looking into my tank, however, and saw many, many little fry, which looked a lot like the Cichlids (at least in the way they swim, I might be wrong).
Now, I have read that this species look after and bring up their fry once they have hatched. It appears that these fry have hatched on their own, and are either wandering around the tank, or hanging around at the surface.
Are they unlikely to survive without their parents?
Thanks
