Finished cycling my tank and went out and bought four male Red Wagtail Platys. However one of them has a slight size advantage over the other three and uses that to his advantage. He nose dives at the other three consistently. Any idea why this might be and what course of action i might take.

Cheers

No, because when i purchased them i told the LFS it was a new tank and they said if i didnt want to breed then go for all males

It's normal to have female/male ratio of 2:1 or even 3:1 as males can be aggressive towards each other (as you have found out) :( .

You would have been better off with 4 females and keeping your fingers crossed that none were pregnant when you got them :D ).

If you don't want to breed the fish then you need very young females :D .

Just let them breed and have the young in the tank. Some will survive & you can use these to replenish you stock or take them to the lfs & give give the fish to them.

I didn't want to breed fish when I got my tank, now with 6 tanks I looking to breed a number of species  .

Mind, the 375 fry the breeding pair of convicts give me was a bit of a shock :hyper: . She's had more since :-( but that's life.
