Finished cycling my tank and went out and bought four male Red Wagtail Platys. However one of them has a slight size advantage over the other three and uses that to his advantage. He nose dives at the other three consistently. Any idea why this might be and what course of action i might take.

Cheers

I had the same situation with a platty. I finally decided it was male and was 'courting' the females. Soon after, I had fry. I also had one sailfin molly that was amazingly bigger than the rest. Exact same situation as your platty.

My guess is that it isnt too big of a problem unless you notice signs of stress. Might want to be on the look out for fry in the near future.

I think brillo1902 said that they were 4 male platies. I don't think fry will be an issue. Might the agressiveness be because they are all male? I think platies are supposed to be in a ratio of 1 male to 2 female.

I think you'd have been better to get 4 females instead of 4 males, then there would be less chance of violence.
I have male and female platties in my tank (not sure of the ratio cos they keep breeding), but still the males sometimes chase each other

I have a female platy in my tank that attacks the other 2 female plays and also my female swordtail.. why is this??? There are 2 males but she doesnt seem to bother with them very much... she is 100% female too?!?!

Odd!
