Can anyone give me some advice please?

We have a pair of German Blue's whom seemed very happy together in the tank.
Then i spotted that the female had layed some eggs and it looked as though the male was eating them.
Anyway, sure enough the eggs were all gone the next day, but i still had a good look all around the tank as i read that they can sometimes move the eggs.
I can't see any in the tank.
Since then the male has become aggressive towards the female. I did take her out for a day and when i put her back in he seemed fine. But he's started chasing her again and now shes hiding up in the corner.
Any ideas or help please?
I definately can't see any eggs/wrigglers anywhere? He did seem to be particularly aggressive towards one corner originally but now seems to guard the whole tank!

Help please?!??!

the behavior you have described is perfectly normal. mine act exactly the same although they never eat their eggs. i'm sure you have read this before, after a few goes they will get it right as long as your tank is not grossly over stocked. the male is normally the one who does more guarding and fanning of the eggs. once they breed they will stay together and will spawn again in about 20/25 days time. the bullying you now see will stop in a few days, nothing to worry about. rams do seem to swim throughout the entire tank and when ready to spawn will probably choose the same spot unless this was a spot frequented by other tank mates, then they will choose another spot, then they will stay more or less in that spot. as long as the tank water has low nitrates (under 30PPM) split fins and such will heal with no ill effect to your rams

My male ram terrorised my female ram to death.

He never stopped following her or nipping and nudging her.

And then she died..

Thankyou, your advice was right, all back to normal today. :good:

He chased her because he was eager to spawn again and she wasnt. Glad everything is fine now.
