Currently I have 2 dwarf gourami in the 60l in my sig, I've noticed one of them has a shredded 'tail' and it's fins are a bit messy. I'd originally suspected the black phantom tetras, as they'd had a bit of fighting a few weeks ago. However just now I saw one gourami following the other and taking a little nip at the back of him. The bullyed gourami was a bit slow, and rested near the bottom or on leaves a lot. I was worried re would drown, as they breath from the surface (I think) but he seems ok swimming up and down fine now. Anyway, do I need to seperate them? If you look at the tank stocking in my sig, I could probably re-arrage them so the Dwarf Gourami is in 'the naughty tank'. The betta is very docile, and has been with the endlers in the past with no fights, if that helps.

Thanks, Jonty

Have you sexed them?

I've had a male chase the two females around, but to actually shred fins, you may have two males.

I think you have to have more females to males.

That's what I wanted - unfortunately they sold them '£8.95 a pair' and they couldn't sex them...

they are one of the easiest fish to sex. Males have the red and blue vert stripes and the females are very bland looking.
