Hey guys, If you have read any of my other posts you will know that I am a complete novice at fish keeping. After some early problems with my tank it now seems fairly steady and my fish all seem happy. Im just curious about the behaviour of my blue drawf gourami. I have a male, a reasonably large female and 2 smaller females. The male seems to swim rapidly at the female almost like he is chasing her away but from nothing in particular. As far as I can tell he isnt nipping her as her fins are fine. Im just wondering is this the male bullying or is it some sort of romance related thing?

what size is your tank?
It could be too small for that many fish!!

Ive not seen any of mine behave in that way however, its not uncommon for males to chase females (in any speices!!!!!)

No males are like that.

They constantly harass the femlaes.

it is probably most likely the male harrasing them.

if your tank is not too small, i am no expert at these fish so some other people may correct me on this, but i believe it is said 1m : 2 f so maybe if your tank has room and is big enough, you should add a female and male...?

However this all depends on the size of your tank, and if im right on saying this lol

hope i helped !?

Well the ratio dosen't really mean that much

It's all down to the temprement and the personality of the fish.

I have one male and one female and they never harass each other.
