My poor rosy tetra has now fell victim to a bloomin horrid danio I have had for years. It's such a quarrelsome bossy little fish, sometimes I just want to flick it on the head ( I wouldn't though) it has totally fin nipped the rosy but I can't separate the rosy until my husband can help me with setting up hospital tank tonight with tank water from main tank as I'm pregnant.
Bossy fish even picks on the only other danio I have in the tank. In fact he icks on pretty much anything he can!
What do you all do about your quarrelsome fish? Maybe increase his pearl danio shoal? Although I don't think I have much room in my 180 litre for anymore shoals. I will soon however be setting up a 54 litre which I could put him in but don't want him picking on new fish when it comes to adding them?

You don't want to be putting pearl danios in a 54l, it's too small for their zzooooooomminess.

When I had zebra/leopard/albino danios, they chased each other around, but ignored the other species. It could well be that since the "shoal" is only him and one other, that the he's having a go at other species too. All shoaling species should ideally be in a group of 6 or more.

I've had him and his one eyed friend for five years now, he just keeps going and going. Yes he does dart around super fast, but he is so big, think he would pick on new danios as they will be so much smaller. Plus dont think I have much room to add another shoal, and don't want to move my nicer friendly fish to a smaller tank to accommodate a shoal of danios. Guess ill just have to keep my eye on him.
