Bully Fish

hi every one,

I'm new to this forum, not familiar with this forum yet, I need help and I have a question to ask, I have 4 platies, 3 males and 1 female, and 1 rummy nose, and 4 guppies, 2 females and 2 males, the question is one of my male platy is very bully, he likes to nip to the other platies, and how to stop him being so aggresive toward the others, he wasn't like that before, what should I do ?

Whoa! 3 males to only one female? The ratio is 2 or 3 females to only one male, so the male's mating doesn't stress them out, or even kill them (from stress). The guppies are better, just take a male back to the store and exchange it for a female. This will result in babies, but it's better than all the stress.
The answer? Take the bully back to the store as well as one of his male friends and exchange them for 2 females. Your girls will be thankful for it.

Depending on what the size of your tank is you could just get more females. I never like having to take my fish back to the store because I don't feel that they will take care of them like I did. What size is your tank?
