I just recently have developed a problem. I have one guppy and I just recently added three new guppies to the tank. My old guppy, a small female, recently started hiding from the others in the back of the tank and two of the three new ones started developing small holes on their tails. I suspect that the biggest of the guppies, a male, is bullying the others. Recently, the new female guppy has also become aggressive as well. So now I have one large male and one large female chasing each other around and trying to bite off each other's tails and the tails of the little ones. I feel bad for my little girl guppy because she's hiding but I really am worried about the boy, whose tail is beginning to shred pretty badly. What do I do with the bullies? And is there any way to repair my little guy's tail and get the girl out of hiding?

Hi i have 6 guppys and they are always chasing each other around , for the tails that are getting torn keep an eye out for fungus on the tears or fin rot ? what other fish have you got in your tank , as it might be one of them tearing the tails ?
hope this helps
cathy

I only have the guppies and there are four of them. I suspect it might be the two bigger fish bullying the little ones.

Hi, How many males do you have and how many females? If you have 4 guppies, it should be 3 females and one male or they will probably fight.

Oh sorry! I would advise you to get some more females. The aggression is probably due to the lack of females for the males :good:

Hi! It came up that my little guy might have fin rot. I changed the water to get out any potentially harmful bacteria. Is it safe for him to be with the others? Is he contagious? I don't see any fungus but his tail has a big chunk missing. I don't want any of my other fish getting sick.
