Fish Crazy
cleaning the algea off my 300 is a PITA. Between lighting and occational natural sunlight, once a week, I need to spend 45 mins. scrubbing the front, and frankly, I'm lazy.
I've tried those 'magnetic' cleaners with a scrubber on the inside and a magnet on the outside, but most are too weak for the 3/4" lexan that my tank was built with.
Now I have a pretty hefty magnet kicking around the shop, that I used to use to rescue tools out of a chip bin at work, so I'm wondering how best to coat a chunk of steel so that it never comes in contact with my water. My current though is to slather it in silicone, then cover all the sides in 1/8" plexiglass, then make a cover out of my scrubbing media of choice.
anyone played with something like this? Any advice?
