Buffalo Dung

Is it safe to mix Buffalo Dung with Soil and use it as a fertilizer to my plants ( As My local fish dealer told me to use 50% Dung & 50 % soil mix together and then use it to the bottom of my tank and then cover this with 2 inches of gravel...and then plant the plants.) Does this sounds good..please let me know.

Doesnt sond good to me. Wouldnt buffalo dung produce ammonia and lower ph level? Something I wouldnt try..

i would think the same, but better wait for someone with a sure answer

But my LFS uses it...his plants looks green healthy....(as he is not using any co2)..he says plants will get co2 from soil..

I assume the ammonia produced by the dung would be taken up by the plants...don't know though

Dont know either but i read somewhere that you could use guinea pig poo in the same manner. So maybe its true, though i wouldnt try it myself.

Works fine if your only growing plants but probably not the best idea to expose any livestock to that environment for a prolonged period.
